Feeding Orioles
Regular maintenance is crucial as the birds will quickly abandon an unmaintained feeder and can become severely sick from spoiled solution. To properly feed orioles remember to:
- Use home-made nectar made of water and white sugar. No other type of sugar should be used
- Change the sugar solution twice a week at least, thrice a week in very warm weather
- Wash the feeder thoroughly with hot water every time you change the solution
