This small flying mammal weighs an average of ten grams and consumes up to 110% of its weight in insects every night. The little brown bat uses echolocation to communicate, navigate in flight and pursue its prey. It uses three types of refuge: a day refuge, a night refuge and a hibernation refuge.

Recently, the little brown bat has fallen prey to a fungus that attacks them during hibernation and spreads rapidly, causing death in many. So it's high time you gave it a helping hand - and don't worry about rabies, bats don't attack humans. 

Did you know that bats are pollinators? They are mainly insectivores, but sometimes feed on melliferous plants. These plants must flower at night to be appreciated by bats. These plants also attract nocturnal pollinating insects, which bats love.

City, countryside, forest, fields and water.

Location
South, southeast or west exposure to sunlight.
On trees at the edge of a forest, near a pond, in a clearing or simply in your garden.
Minimum height from the ground: 2 to 3 meters.
Place the nesting box away from strong lighting.
